Yay! We're HighSpeed!

Well, we are high speed internet people again.  Judging from the gianormous satellite dish on top of our house, we're also techies.  Yeah, right!  Anyway, I'm finally able to load pictures again, so here are just a few of the pictures that I have been wanting to post somewhere.  Since I posted last, Hannah was born!  Woohoo!  Born on June 17th, 2010 weighing 6 lbs 9 oz.  She was tiny.  Another excellent birth.  Went in at 6 AM, they started inducing me at 8 and Hannah was here at 12:57.  It was great.  And all my nurses and my doctor were all just wonderful.  I'm so thankful for two great births for my children.  Anyway, Hannah is now one month old, and today, on July 20th, her cord finally fell off.  I didn't think it was ever going to.  It was taking forever!  Dr.  Harrison said that they can stay on for 3-4 months, but oh my goodness...I was praying that hers wouldn't.  Finally, tonight is a tub bath night!  Yay.  At her doctor's appt on Friday, she weighed 9 lbs 12 oz.  So she's really growing, really.  She's a good eater too, taking 4 oz every 3 hours.

She has a rash right now, which her doctor identified as a viral rash, but I'm not so sure.  It seems to be getting worse, not better.  We'll see how that goes.  The cutest thing in the world is watching her and Isaac playing, especially when Isaac doesn't think anyone is watching.  He just adores her.  He will lay down beside her and say, "I love you little Hannah Banana" in his baby-talk voice.  It's really the sweetest thing.  He just absolutely loves her.  I'm  hoping to get a video clip of these little love-fest moments.  I'll post it when I catch it.

In addition to the new kid, we also got a new dog.  Our dog, Chewy, who Tim has had for 13 years, passed away the very day we brought Hannah home.  God was good and gave us perfect timing for it.  With Hannah coming home, we didn't have much time to dwell on it, so she helped us get through it.  Isaac wasn't quite as sad as Tim and I were.  He didn't even notice.  We didn't tell him for a couple of days because with all the changes, we weren't sure he could handle it all.  So, a couple days after Chewy passed, Tim took him outside to where Chewy was buried and told him that Chewy was gone.  Tim is teary-eyed and I'm watching from the kitchen window bawling my eyes out, and Isaac says, "That's okay, we still have Goldie" and goes and rides his bike.  So, we glad that he wasn't too torn up about it, but a little disappointed that Chewy didn't mean as much to him as he did to us.  We weren't going to get another dog because the new dog would just have too big of shoes to fill, but within a couple weeks, we could tell that Goldie wasn't handling Chewy's death well.  So we began our search.  We were careful and patient, visiting several dogs and seeing their energy level and if they were a good fit for our family.  We researched all the surrounding pounds online and finally found one we liked.  His name was Zane, and he looked just like Chewy...well, maybe a little cuter.  Anyway, we went to Little Rock shelter to visit Zane, and the lady at the front desk said, "Oh, you will want to see Rosebud too."  We took Zane out first, and he just wasn't a great fit for us, so we went back inside and took Rosebud for a spin.  She was an immediate hit with Tim and me.  Isaac was hot and wanted to leave (how did this happen, coming from two parents who love dogs?).  Anyway, we ended up taking Rosebud home, paying nothing for her (someone had sponsored her already).   Since we already had a horse named Rosie and Rosebud isn't the kind of name you name a dog on a small ranch (that's what I like to call our place...a small ranch), we renamed her "Trixie".  Trixie is a big fan of Isaac.  The first day Isaac was outside with her, he kept coming in saying, "Mom, Trixie keeps following me!"  "Mom, Trixie is trying to climb the tree with me!"  So, we explained to him that she is trying to be his friend and play with him.  We realized that he had never had a dog that actually played with him.  So over the past two days, they have become great friends, and I have a feeling that this friendship will only grow over time.  That makes me smile.  I think every kid, especially every little boy needs a good dog.  Anyway, I think that catches you up on all the news at the Wood house.  So, enjoy the pictures.  Oh yeah, sorry for the choppiness of the post...it's from sleep deprivation.
