Update
Greetings blog world! I wanted to give a quick update for anyone who still occasionally checks our blog...yep, still a blogging loser. I have a little bit of desire to be one of those daily bloggers who write about stuff like child-rearing and recipes, etc. But, I don't think I'll ever do that. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to post for a couple of reasons...1.) because I'm also a picture-taking loser and 2.) We have the equivalent of dial-up internet therefore it takes years to do anything. I'm thinking of looking into HughesNet though. I've read up on their stuff and it's promising.
Well, we are literally days away from greeting the newest member of our family, Miss Hannah Danielle Wood. My doctor two weeks ago said that it could be any time, and then last week at my appointment, she retracted that statement and said that she's not expecting anything this week! Ugh...that's a bit depressing you know! But, we have faith that Hannah will come in God's perfect timing when she's ready. I just hope I'm ready! I've been so much later on everything with her than I was with Isaac. I'm still in the process of packing my hospital bag and honestly, can't even think of what all to take. It's like this whole pregnancy has turned my mind into gel. I did pretty good there in the middle, but the first few months and the last month, I have hardly been able to put together a complete thought! Yikes...I hope my brain capacity returns quickly after the birth. If not, we're in trouble!
Isaac has turned four years old, and let me just say that this has been our biggest transition/stage thus far. Granted, there's a lot going on in his little mind right now...we've moved in the last few months to a new house, there's a new family member on the way, and he turned four. Now, apparently, at age four, you pretty much morph into a superhero. Today, he taught me how to fly, he's constantly shooting out spiderwebs from his palms and he told me this afternoon that bug zapping is one of his super powers. Unfortunately, he couldn't teach me that one. I guess that's one that you're either born with or not. Now, this is hilarious...Tim and I have laughed many laughs over this new found power. BUT, there are some down sides to it as well. For one, he fully believes that he can do anything, ANYTHING. Our furniture has turned into buildings on which he can jump from one roof to another, he is continually saying, "I can do that because I can do anything I'm four," and he is just way too tough for kisses and hugs to family members. Now, he still sneaks some for mom and dad, but the rest of the family is pretty much out of luck. I'm hoping this part of being four doesn't last very long because that's the part that's not so funny. I'm in the midst of reading several books about raising children though, so I'm hoping that the information I glean from those books will turn me into a mom superhero, yeah right.
On other news, we are still loving our house. Probably one of the main reasons why we can't seem to keep up with the blog. Since warm weather, we've been outdoors most of the time. We have two horses and a mule. The mule reminds me an awful lot of Chewy. She's old, somewhat ugly and pretty much sickly looking. But, like Chewy, she is as sweet as can be, laid back, kind, etc. So, I like her. Her name is Molly. We also have Rosie and Terra. While you might think that is two female horses, Terra is actually a male horse. We're thinking of changing his name to Copper. I think we like that better. I'm actually looking forward to learning how to ride. I think that Rosie will be my horse since Terra is a gigantic horse. Terra however, is a really sweet horse. He loves to be pet on the nose, which is super soft. I like Terra...well, Terra/Copper. Whatever. We've also had some unwanted pets lately, including an armadillo, two opossums, and two snakes. One of which, I actually killed. With a large board. Yep, I threw it on the snake. It worked. And, I'll do it again if I have to.
So, that's what happening at the Wood household. Mostly waiting, and more waiting..... But, I'm enjoying the down time since I know that it won't last much longer. I'm not going to promise regular entries any more since I obviously can't keep that promise. But, I do hope to post when Hannah gets here. So, be watching... =)
