TIM'S HOME, Christmas, Ice....

And all the other stuff I haven't blogged about yet!

Wow...Is it possible that things are finally settling down and getting back to normal?  YES!  I think it is!  Well, family and friends...we have had a roller coaster 3 weeks.  On December 15th, we headed to Mississippi to pick up Tim (YAY!).  He was scheduled to get in around 9:00, but didn't get there till around 10:30.  It was okay though, definitely worth the wait!  Isaac (along with every other kid there) was exhausted, but his fatigue quickly turned to the biggest smile I've seen in a long time when he saw his daddy.  They made Tim stay for 6 days to "decompress" so we enjoyed a six-day "vacation" with him.  Maybe I shouldn't exactly call it a vacation, but it was wonderful being together again.  We returned to The Natural State on the 20th, so you can imagine that it was pretty much a whirlwind from there to Christmas.  We spent our days hanging out in pj's, finishing up last minute Christmas shopping, and talking about all that was missed.  Christmas this year was a blast...without the thought of a deployment hanging out in your thoughts, we were able to let loose and relax.  After a long and much needed stay with family, we headed back home to begin the task of putting the house back together and potty training!  Oh, the stories we have of Isaac.

Well, let me begin with the fact that he got music, music, music for Christmas this year.  Guitars, harmonicas, drums, percussion equipment, a microphone...the list goes on.  Well, he is truly a superstar now.  He has a brand new repertoire of songs including, "Hey Good Lookin" and he's still caught up on "Santa Claus is Coming to Town".  He has also entered the stage of serious imaginative play and word play.  He makes up words all the time, and then makes a song out of them.  Yesterday, he sang one of his original compositions for Tim...of course, Tim couldn't understand a word of it, so afterwards, he gave Isaac a confused look and Isaac just said, "It makes sense, Daddy."  We thought it was hilarious.  With all this new potty training stuff going on, he's gotten some new words....I asked him the other day if he had poopy in his pants, and he replied by saying, "No, it's just gas."  I can tell he's going to be a linguistic person too, because I was commenting about how something was "weird" and he looked at me very seriously and said, "Mom, if something is weird, you can say that it's odd."  Well, needless to say, he keeps us in stitches most of the time.

Well, that's a very short version of our life lately.  Still on the lookout for word from the Lord on what He wants us to do with our life from this point on.  That's challenging, but rewarding at the same time...just knowing that God cares enough about us to handle every small and BIG detail of our life is so comforting.  We love you all and we hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Re: TIM'S HOME, Christmas, Ice....

I am so happy that Tim is home safe and sound. I am also glad that you all had a wonderful Christmas. Your son sounds like he is absolutely hysterical just like I remember his daddy being.
