PROMOTED
I am now officially a 1st Lietenant in the United States Army. (applause) It takes 24 months for a 2nd Lieutenant to become eligible for 1st and then there is usually a long wait for federal recognition from National Guard Bureau in Washington. I was promoted 2 days after I became eligible, thank you Lord. Its gonna be a nice pay raise. The rank is silver with my dress uniform and black with my ACUs. I also got a cool new combat shirt that I wanted to show off but I will show a pic of myself in mine later. It is supposed to fit tight and be cooler under our body armor. Mine is a medium and still looks huge on me. Speaking of which, my commander is now making me to eat at least 2 meals a day and my executive officer makes me eat a 300 calorie muffin a day. ha ha. So hopefully I wont look so much like a skeleton when I get home, which oh by the way is coming soon.

May I just say, first of all, that I am very proud of you, and that this promotion is truly a testimony of God. Also, I would like to thank your commanders for recognizing that you need to eat. If I can't take care of you, I'm glad that someone is. :) Love ya, 1LT.
Cool!!! CONGRATS, 1ST LT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Way to go 2LT to 1LT!!!!!! How about Captain Wood?
Congratulations! I am not suprised though, I remember you being good at everything that you did. Just know that the Davis's are thinking of you. love Danielle
Way to go bro! You should be running the place in a few weeks. Can't wait to see you. You'll no doubt notice when you get here that I am no longer a skeleton. (several too many Mtn. Dew's) Maybe you can help motivate me to get back in shape...or maybe I'll motivate you to get fat, you never can tell.
So its 31 huh Matt, all the time I have people tell me that soon I wont be able to eat whatever I want and not gain weight. I say well Im 28 now when is it gonna happen. Looks like I may still have a few years.
Three words for you...one, seventy, five. Not that I'm a blimp or anything but that's quite a bit more than my fighting weight in college of 140. (yer a bum Rocky) And for me the difference started at 30.
